Fall on Farm Slideshow

I love hiking the farm during the fall season.  Dad and I joined Allison and Margo of SAHC (Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy) as they hiked the farm for their annual conservancy visit.  These photos are of various parts of the farm including Dad’s and Charles’ land.

These are a few photos of the Horticulture Tour that I attended on the Friday of the October Conference of the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association.  I found our visit to Clemson University’s Farm Garden extremely informative, and we also visited a a hydroponic vegetable farm and cut flower farm.

Farm Visit from Georgia

In October, we enjoyed a visit from Debra, my mom’s friend since childhood.  I always appreciate an enthusiastic farm visitor; it was fun to show Debra around and tell her about our plans.    During her visit, we were planting a fall crop of potatoes as an experiment.  We will let you know how that turns out.

Check out my new straw hat…I think I finally have one big enough to keep the sun off my face and neck.  My Aunt Pearl approves!
